I'm not talking about the rating on this page, I'm talking about the treatment it has received across the internet. Fan translations that hang for years, Line Webtoon literally having it in Korean but not translating it despite funding objectively worse stories en masse, no one really talking about it in forums anywhere, etc. And never an explanation as to why. 4x2k5m

One must ask then, with a realistic...

I can count few manga where the quality of the story is so much more than the individual parts, and the individual parts are good to begin with.

The art and character designs are excellent.

The world building is extensive, detailed and convincing, and done in such a way they inform the plot, which builds up slowly to some riveting moments that feel genuine. Then the plot, when it takes off, really...

10

I consider this manga masterful when it comes to the mood and atmosphere of the story, with a consistent melancholy that bears down on me as I read this—not in a bad way, though.

It's happy, its bawl-your-eyes-out sad, it's joy and it's pain. And it never fails to remind you of how short life is.

Add into that a competent and fairly detailed fantasy world design, as well as some truly bold choices...

It's basically what this review title says. When I read this, I slow down and just kind of let myself feel light and warm. It feels therapeutic to read this.

The only other story that's slowed me down and made me feel is another 10/10 called Sousou no Frieren.

Great art, characters, and world building. I don't have a negative thing to say about it.

9.7

First and foremost, this is a gag manga. Plenty of tsukkomis, puns, awkward and silly situations that often come quickly and often. It takes serious situations and makes light of them, but in an absurdist way. And then things get serious and you will ride that roller-coaster of emotions.

It often straddles the line between setting up or executing a joke and situations that are serious. And it...

9.5

A dark and mature take on the super hero genre, with twists and turns. Borrows from the noir style.

There is some nudity, and this isn't for kids or younger teens—it's rated as 17+ in its original publication for a good reason.

With that said, the characters are interesting, the plot is fantastic and the world building is well done.

9

Sure, the overarching plot moves slowly in comparison to a lot of other manga, but it's worth slowing down for. The characters are unique and interesting, the art looks great, the world is a little game-y but otherwise thought through pretty well, the plot is consistent, world building is excellent, and the mini story arcs are great.

It's far from a generic Isekai, even if it shares some of the...

9

I was not expecting this kind of manga to have such a firm grasp on its world and characters, not to mention showing a broad knowledge of many things in enough depth you at least believe the author knows everything they're writing about.

The art is nice, and the world building is fantastic. The two main characters feel like they're real people, and their relationship as friends who aren't afraid...

9

This manga starts out as others do, but instead of only using it to get the plot going, you learn it's already been part of the plot as you read on.

There isn't a lot of variety in of world building, but what it does provide it goes to great lengths to flesh out. Thus, the story comes across as very focused and intentional when you take a step back and look at the overall picture.

The plot's...

8

(Ch. 58)
Art is good, story is coherent, plot doesn't suck, and characters are decent.

Foreshadowing is used mostly effectively, and emphasis on the futuristic technology is believable and imaginative.

The gender bend is not used as an excuse to have a GL plot so far, and that's a plus in my book. There's no romance, and I'm cool if it continues to not have romance.

The settings are beautiful...

8

A comedy about two friends trying not to fall in love with each other in a fantasy world while cursed to end up in ridiculous situations with characters that aren't all there.

The jokes and quips are often and funny, the story knows how to use and twist tropes to great effect, and it also knows how to mix in a serious situation to satisfaction.

And the way this story plays their flawed but...

8

Made at chapter 107
The art is appealing, the character design is great, the characters are slightly above average in of writing, and the world building is decent but a touch lacking.

The sum of the parts does make for a better impression than the individual parts themselves.

The premise is the cliché main character's (MC) job is seen as weak but is secretly overpowered' trope, but things...

8

As the title says, the story is solid. The characters are interesting for the most part, weeks, months and years instead of days for things to happen, and the romance works. The world building is decent as well.

The art is good, too, and feels unique.

Yes, I find it a little difficult to believe one person can know so much on such a wide range of subjects, and some of the inventions seem like...

8

Yeah, the main character is hard to pin down in that "because they're not consistent" way. It's a bit frustrating, but he's not perfect—and he's not meant to be. In fact, his personality nearly caused his death, and then he was told he needs to grow up (in other words, but the message was such).

The side characters are varied and play into the running joke/gimmick of the story; this gimmick only...

8

To be clear, this is one of the most consistent stories I've read, and the characters are a lot of fun—though enough of that relies on the quality of the translator(s) that a good translator who conveys the characters' individual style of talking makes things so much more enjoyable.

Even without that, however, I can't say too much negative from an objective quality standpoint.

Subjectively... look...

8

Extensive world building, cool space battles without becoming a bore, lots of character development for all characters, and a restraint shown that seems to make this manga a bit higher quality than the WN.

Art is nice as well.

I expected less seriousness from a story-board perspective but it likes to take itself fairly seriously and even points out things that seem like a bit of a stretch without...

8

Honestly, I think the overarching plot and setting are really good, and the individual characterization of each character is well done, too. Part of this is how there's obvious thought to what happens in the background around the world, and part of this is due to things happening around the characters' flaws as well.

Yes, the MC starts out (and continues to have an issue with) sexualizing...

8

Having read as far as the current latest translation (Ch. 59) I've discovered something remarkable about this story that's been lacking from so many newer stories: an author who can write a plot without resorting to gimmicks that break the lore.

The main plot, while not apparent for a while, even revolves around why the world is so much weaker than the MC (main character) re in a way that...

8

Now, it's possible there are other cultivation stories that are worth reading, but I've tried dozens and given up on all of them but this one. Why?

Because the cultivation in this story clearly gets its power up from outside sources. It requires expensive materials and extensive knowledge, which requires leaving the house and actually having an adventure.

Do you know how many, Chinese especially...

8

The hook is strong, the characters are interesting, and the plot is great.

And if people who read the LN are anything to go by, as long as the manga doesn't rush too much or stray from the original story, it'll be something to look forward to.

Art is pretty, the settings and world look unique, and with future worlds being different kind of fantasy/isekai settings, it'll probably have a little...

8

This one starts with a twist, and it's actually a pretty good twist founded in the vain goddess' twisted personality. And better yet, her personality isn't cast into a bubble: it has affected the laws, societies and wars fought by the various peoples and races in the world she's supposed to protect, for both good and bad. It feels plausible and grounded.

Thus, when the MC manages to survive and...

8

It's not going to introduce anything really new, but the story and characters are solid and quite a bit of thought has gone into the world.

It handles its tropes with care and injects a kind of grounded-ness that I find both strange and nice all at the same time.

Definitely worth a read.

8

It's a bit slow to start, but the characters really shine through and make this manga one of my favorites.

The plot is generic in what it includes but not generic in how it handles what it includes.

The art is some of my favorite in manga.

I so badly want to rate this a 10, but I know this doesn't meet my objective criteria for a 10. Not even a 9. But I do enjoy it far more than those that do...

7.9

This is one of those titles that oozes that unique, strange imagination that niche, Japanese manga is known for. Other titles like this are BLAME! and that Yakuza/gender bend/isekai one. Just chock-full of interesting concepts and appealing art.

Definitely worth a read and one of the freshest things to come into manga in general in a while. This is the "not as happily ever after" story to an...

7.9

This is one of those stories I come across from time to time where someone's imagination has taken a seemingly bizzare set of ideas that shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence and then executed them so well it has become art in that weird, abstract, almost grotesque way.

Other stories in this category include BLAME! and Akira.

Clearly, these stories are niche and not intended for most people,...

7.8

It's a bit of a deconstruction of the "kicked out of the party" trope, in a world where the heroes versus the demon lord is basically turned into an e-sport.

Focus is more on characters and their conflicts than the world, so world building isn't a strong point, but overall it's been a refreshing read.

7.7

I don't know what the reviwer below me (PZcolo) was reading, (Edit: or the reviewer above, crazyazn69, since the one below is objectively wrong about many of the supposed facts regarding the story) but after 30 chapters there is no romance, there are more male characters than female (all friends) that the MC gets to know. And most of the girls show no romantic interest in the MC.

I don't know what...

7.6

Art is nice, the character designs are nice, the premise is fun, character arcs/development feels good, and the plot gets interesting.

The English translation stops at a good point in time, currently, but that's mid-volume so there is more. Regardless of whether it gets finished, you won't feel bad about reading this one up to chapter 23 (which is where the translation is actually at... I just don...

7.6

It's a novel concept (reversal of pet-human status) done in a cute way. The comedy is decent and the character designs are great. Slightly iffy world building but otherwise fine.

And the author seems to have dropped off the map suddenly and without telling anyone. I'd like to know what happened; if they're even still alive or not.

It's a bit out there but a lot of fun.

7.6

The characters seem... it depends: Bad and arrogant people are completely one-dimensional with no reason for why, but everyone else seems to be written with at least two dimensions.

The MC seems a bit too soft for his background, but it's bearable as he does show some spine, too.

The female lead is actually enjoyable, with her own personal circumstances and personality putting a twist on the...

7.6

Interestingly, I never had an issue with Lefi's archaic English, and even preferred it. But, that's an aside.

It's a neat story that actually bothers to develop the romance between two characters and do it over time and in a way that feels natural.

Beyond that, it's a decent slice-of-life that isn't too serious but can bring in a serious scene or scenario without much trouble in execution.

And the...

7.5

Honestly, it's a great way to apply an isekai character (the isekai actually matters/means something and the plot is different because of it), and is quite refreshing and wholesome, with several tropes challenged during the plot.

And to add to oliv2079's defense: some kids with single parents feel like their parent won't be available as often if they get a new partner, and often act out as a...

7.5

The characters are decent, the world building is fantastic, the plot is unique, and the art is nice.

The harem part comes across as tacked-on, and really wasn't necessary, so beware that.

Otherwise, it's a decent read and there aren't any plot holes or signs that author is willing to betray their story for a dramatic or cool moment.

Though I recall some nudity, which was unnecessary and only...

7.5

Characters are alright, world building is great, plot is standard for an "OP character in a fantasy world" type story but it's executed well. Art is good and character designs are nice as well.

No complaints (well, a touch too much fanservice for me to recommend to someone under 15), but it doesn't quite stand out as much as it could, and I'm not sure whether that's good or bad.

Solid story.

7.5

As the title says, it's good, but the author has consistently demonstrated their inability to write logic and structure in a consistent manner whenever not developing the plot. It's to the point half a chapter can be wasted on unnecessary side-content and doubling-down of dead and stupid gags/jokes.

A quick side-note: there is full nudity later on, so this is definitely not for kids. I was...

7.4

At first it doesn't seem that way, the goddess not mentioning for people to get "limit break" to save their lives is absolutely atrocious. I will also point out there are 5 other goddesses who do the same. Yeah, it's dumb. But seeing as how this is part of the start of the story, it's bearable.

And beyond that, this is one of the most competent authors I've seen. Tropes and seeming contrivances...

7.3

Yeah, the previous reviews pretty much nail the fact that, aside from a couple of things said, the guy is closer to a hero than a villain. With that said, the story isn't too bad.

The characters are interesting despite their simplicity, and the story in the short amount of chapters I've read... I can guess where this is going to go. But even if I'm right, it's not like it won't be worth reading.

...

7.2

(Chapter 9)
So, the premise is fine, the main character and his motivations are decent, and the twins' are a novel idea for co-leads with a motivation that makes sense but feels incomplete in explaining all their actions.

The plot has had some small holes in the fine details, but overall I can't hold that against the greater story (at least, not yet).

So far it's a decent manga, but I could easily...

7.2

The art is pretty good; the characters are visually distinct, too. Overall, it's a pleasant visual experience.

The writing is consistent in characterization and bothers to develop its characters without regressing them like I've seen so often. Their individual emotions are fairly well handled as they don't go too far off the extreme ends. It's nice.

Then there's the plot, which starts out simply...

7

The story starts out with a different take on the "summoned to another world" trope in that the main character was left behind, and that concept isn't entirely wasted, especially since this story also keeps tabs on a few of the other characters in the other world(s) as a contrast and as a somewhat connected appendage.

It gets trope-y, with harems and that somewhat generic shonen-jump feel, and I...

7

Art is great, the subplots are decent, and so far—aside from a couple of plot holes that don't change what matters to the story—the overarching plot is alright.

But I don't like where this might be going. I feel like all the individual characters' backstories are being wasted, and so were/are their character arcs.

Chapter 19 ends in an in-between state, where if the story becomes all about the MC...

7

It's got some interesting things going for it, starting with how the MC is not the isekai character. It's also nice to see a more confident MC who isn't a complete social dunce.

The magic fights are interesting, but I'm not sure how long that can keep up unless the author or artist manages to give new powers without it becoming some kind of regular thing.

Other than that, there's some fan service,...

7

It's really slow for a manga, so much so I suspect it'll be 6-7 years before the story finishes at this rate. (It took 94 chapters...

to slay the first of seven plus a secret boss demon lords, but removing half the chapters for stuff that doesn't need to be relearned means probably 47 chapters per cycle, and its a monthly release.)

Art is nice enough, characters are fun, a lot of familiar...

7

The premise is fun, and the story isn't too serious overall, which makes for some easy to digest sitcom with characters who are more or less likable in service of a simple but decent story that's pretty easy to recommend.

7

The art is good, the character designs are decent, the world building exists but isn't showcased so much yet, and the premise is nothing special.

The MC is overpowered, but honestly, it's not an issue. The execution doesn't focus on "look at how OP" so much as it focuses on "look at how much the MC gets lost in his abilities". It works, and is worth checking out.

Also... there are more releases. I...

7

It's enjoyable enough, and certainly gets a laugh out of me often. But I guess the foundation of the most irritating elf character is humor that sometimes falls into SpongeBob SquarePants or Annoying Orange territory—I have no love for the former and a complete disdain for the latter—so I sometimes find myself disliking what happens even though I know that's the point. To be clear, I do find the...

7

You know, I didn't expect I'd give this manga it's highest written review rating, but I can see why. This manga stumbles hard in the beginning, but enduring the first 18 chapters will let you see the beginning of what this manga blooms into: a battle-crazed MC pushing his limits in another world while both embracing and destroying various isekai tropes.

Yeah, the art isn't the most "proportionally...

7

MC gets into a party of women... who don't try to romance him (and vice-versa) and even root for him and another character once they are introduced.

Furthermore, the MC is overpowered in a way that makes sense, and introduces the concept of adventurers not being a highly regarded job. Between a situation at home and his desire to explore, his job choice isn't a random thing.

There's actual thought...

7

So the art is nice and most of the characters are decent if a little bit under developed. Some are one-note.

That said, the setting and world building are good, the premise is interesting, and the writing is competent enough to avoid plot holes and anything particularly agregious.

I'd say give it a shot, but don't go in thinking this is a serious story. It lives up to the casual treatment of its...

7

The plot and characters are good, and so is the art, but sometimes the logic loops or doesn't add up.

It's worth checking out.

7

The art is nice, the characters are interesting, and the premise is pretty cool. That said, aside from one error of logic during the inciting incident (not being able to leave the room when in reality he just didn't want to), which could be a translation issue, the plot—as slow and meandering as it is—is solid.

It's not meant for everyone, as it does drag on, but I liked it enough.

Edit...

7

Entertaining gag manga that both embraces and deconstructs heros in fiction. Great cast, too, with one exception:

The female lead never gets character development. Literally every other character gets it except for her, but because she's so important to the manga it starts to drag after chapter 65 when a massive event happens.

And Braveman is... somewhat problematic. If he really just doesn't want...

6.8

This one is a little weird. On one hand, it does some really interesting and unique things I want to see more of:

-Time gets consistently spent between both worlds.
-MC is kind.
-The girls actually seem to act in more subtle ways compared to many other stories.
-Neat monsters
-Interesting sub plots
-Manga jumps all over the place

Then there are some downright infuriating or frustrating things:
-Al...

6.8

(Written at chapter 42)
The art is the first thing of note, particularly because the battle scenes are very good and almost everything else is dynamic. The girls are pretty, the grown men are decent, and the younger guys... are girls. For some reason this artist can't seem to draw younger guys, so they draw young female bodies doing adult female poses. And the main character is one such character....

6.7

The world is cliche, the characters are a bit too simplistic (except for the main pairing/ship, they flirt openly with each other but nothing seems to happen), and the plot can't decide what it wants to be: a story about exploring to the end of the world, or a story about a "kicked out of..." person doing all the winning with their secretly awesome skill.

But the art is okay, and for killing time,...

6.5

The characters work and the plots are solid—even if a bit simple in concept. The art is usually nice but often has too much fan service (and nudity) for my tastes. Adults only, in my opinion.

The world building is probably the most extensive part of this manga, and it's pretty good.

I can't really recommend this in good conscience, however. The art is too adult for the plot.

6.5

I think the premise is great and the characters are good enough to not spoil it. The art is nice enough and it's short enough to not have to put a lot of time into to read.

The plot is, overall, decent, but there are definitely moments that only work because this is a short story. Thus, I can't say this story has good writing. It's okay writing.

6.5

This is the story of a man who wants a simple life with a family of his own being forced into becoming a hero with a harem. He fights this every step of the way, and is thus

convinced to drink by the women around him which lowers his inhibitions, and thus he gathers his harem.

There are so many problems when it comes to how the harem is being formed, and quite frankly, if the intended audience...

6.5

I'll start with the art, because the original artist Mao retired after completing chapter 20 and their replacement... I've read comments that say 21 onwards is a severe downgrade. The quality and style—aside from having really over-the-top lewd fanservice and some nudity—is actually really appealing. I'm at chapter 19, so I can't confirm nor deny the opinion of the new art just yet. Definitely not...

6.1

It's not going to be anything special if you compare it to good fantasy stories. But the manga feels a bit like an isekai, and compared to those, it's above average.

The weird modern/medieval selective morality thing—as more thoroughly described by the review below by an named "Retard9"—is annoying, and the main character's reluctance to bed his wife starts out understandable but...

6

The characters are nice enough, the world is given the basic level of detail with some extra backstory that drives the plot, and the art is nice. And it has one of the sweeter romance developments, too!

Genuinely, this could be great... and then I read some spoilers that has me sitting between "huh, that was a twist" and "no, no, no, no! I can't believe you did that."

Regardless, the romance stops...

6

There are some awesome concepts that are executed very well:

  • The relationship and romance development of the main character and the main female love interest is fantastic.
  • Some genuinely wholesome moments.
  • The idea that the main character becomes a guild receptionist and starts to take an interest in the safety of those he gives jobs to, even giving them training and becoming the examiner for new...
6

The art, world building and consistency of the story is something to be lauded. That said, the concept of the story isn't particularly special and kind of forces it to rely on there always being an external threat. There are plenty and it doesn't feel forced, but it also feels like it's missing some important character interactions like with other characters and the world itself—there should be...

6

MC (main character) is summoned with his entire class, but decided not to become a hero with them since they have a seemingly suicidal enthusiasm towards glory in war.

The art is fantastic, by the way. Too much fanservice, in my opinion, but the art always looks great.

I'll hit on the two biggest criticisms here: the original author's morals are in question (why does everyone become his slaves...

6

Art and character designs are great (except for the huge chested "younger sister" one... just too much, even though it is done for a recurring joke

of smother the loli ), and it does more to create a unique world than most isekais despite taking place in only one town.

I genuinely like the characters, too. They aren't one-dimensional, even if some jokes are played at their expense a few too...

6

It's honestly worth a look to see if you'll like it or not, and I personally like it quite a bit.

With that said, there's only 20 chapters translated for my sources so I don't have a lot to judge this on. Several things have happened, but it doesn't feel like it.

The characters are interesting, but you might not notice as, unless something big is happening, everything is slowly paced.

Give it a...

5.7

Story pacing is a little too fast, with focus on how much non wife stuff the dragon's bride is doing (the author maybe confused the definition of wife with the definition of servant). The romance is too slow and the rest is too fast, which does hurt the story.

But otherwise it's not insufferable and perhaps worth a look.

5.5

The art is pleasant enough and the main ing characters have a personality that's more than one dimension, but the MC is yet another victim of Isekai authors selectively making characters lose their common sense and act like an imbecile for no reason other than artificial plot drama.

But when I say the numbers don't add up, I mean that literally. The MC was reduced to 20% of his mana, then...

5.5

The art is sometimes decent and sometimes barely serviceable—I don't get why the MC is the most lazily drawn character, at least, it appears that way—and not enough has been translated to give a feel for the plot.

The world building is bare bones, but again, it's only got a few chapters translated.

This first mini-arc has been... I can't even say it's unrealistic. Heck, the author is pretty based...

5.5

The world building is interesting, the character designs and monsters are good, and there are three subplots of varying quality:

  1. The possible romance
  2. The former party falling apart
  3. Something unique about the MC's (main character's) constitution that no one is aware of.

The first is irritating, because it's just not written with any kind of progression at all. I want to see it develop, but the...

5.2

Honestly, the art is interesting and the world is neat.

But the main character doesn't have a goal and most of the characters feel like they don't really have their own personalities, but are instead really detailed caricatures.

Beyond that is the pacing. Sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it doesn't. Fight scenes get skipped half-way through, people get teleported without an explanation, and...

5.1

The art is average, but (most of) the character designs are good. Their personalities are sometimes good and sometimes cliche, but enough of them do things differently that their interactions are enjoyable. And the story setup has both overarching and local plots (very simple ones, but not bad). The problems, however, are the kind that make me, as a reader, lose immersion.

  1. The party that kicked...
5

The art is... an acquired taste, and not particularly clean, but the premise is interesting enough. There's some thought about the world, too.

However, I have no idea what the author is going to do to keep the story interesting once the cat is completely out of the bag.

Hopefully, if the author is smart, they will change the genre and make it a slice of life/adventure story with a solid mix of...

5

The art is nice, the characters are interesting and fairly memorable, and there's some really in-depth world building that helps drive the plot.

With that said, how the story is set up is baffling and convoluted, making for an extremely disted set of conditions that prevent most of the characters from getting what they want when it's literally in front of their faces.

Technically not a...

5

The story has a great premise, the art is great, and the characters are designed well, too. This has so much potential, but based on what's there in the first 18 chapters, I can tell this will never be a great story.

Individually, almost every element is above average. The character design is excellent, the personalities are nice, the world design is cool, etc.

But it's all squandered by the plot...

5

It's not that there's nothing else there worth reading: there's major character death and good drama, there's an interesting enough world, and there's a good enough premise to start out with.

But the powers were handled terribly, especially the main character's. Everyone else's is simple enough, but the male main character's is so much more complex that in order to make use of them, the powers...

5

Basically what the title said. The characters are decent, too.

No plot holes, nothing so ridiculous it sticks out... with exception to a bit of nudity that was completely unnecessary. It only happens a bit at the start, and after that everyone is covered up. No, this manga is not softcore porn.

I don't understand that, like, what's the point of inserting nudity only once? Not only that, the...

5

[Review of the WN. I have been told the LN is significantly better.]

TL;DR: Starts great, but after a hundred or so chapters turns into complete trash, then gets better, but the author has a stupid bad habit of forgetting important details that were previously written which leads to out of character moments and other major plot holes. Still kind of a fun read if you turn off your brain and leave...

5

Overpowered MC (main character) who, despite knowing what will and won't make him famous (half the time, the manga is very inconsistent and contradictory in whether he's aware of it), and declaring he wants to be normal, goes and does everything he can to be famous. The premise is a lie.

With that said, and with the MC being completely unrelatable (and selectively dumb at the author's whim), the...

5

The art is great, the content is... somewhere between uncomfortable and fine (the MC is never shown grooming his adopted daughters, and they seem to have grown up raised by the entire town, but the way they all want to be his wife is not normal). The writing is between fine and way too on-the-nose.

All the "antagonists" act irrationally until they get beaten in one way or another and then they're...

5

Most of the characters are written well enough to not be bad, except for one of the most important characters: the "hero" who kicked the main character out of the party.

The hero's other party ... it's a mixed bag. The tank is neutral, since he's not really given enough space to give him a recognizable personality.

The monk/punch monkey girl is as obnoxious as the "hero".

The mage...

4.8

As the title says, the story is interesting. There's a neat feature to the world that can keep the balance between the MC (main character) being OP or not, and there's a lot of intentional over-the-top-ness. I think the author and artist are possibly having a ton of fun.

But the amount of levels gained/lost, the enemies killed, and the amount of experience gained, don't add up sometimes and the MC...

The plot is extremely simple and generic, the characters are somewhere between okay and confusing, and the story doesn't really do a lot to clarify things it should clarify.

The character designs are nice and the art is decent, which is probably the best thing going for this manga.

It's not the worst thing ever but it is definitely lacking what I would require for minimum average, even if a scant...

Despite being extremely ecchi, the characters, setting and plot have some thought put into them. However, not as much thought as there should be for me to give it a higher score.

The characters, while well thought out one dimensional characters, are still one dimensional, in my opinion.

The setting is interesting, but when you dig deeper, things stop adding up: Why have walls when your fighting...

4.5

It's not particularly good or memorable, but it's not the worst thing either. It avoids some pitfalls but is held back by others.

The worst part is how the story takes the best thing it did and undermines it to the point it loses all possible originality. You see, the MC is actually not as dedicated to his class as others, and to make up for it, becomes focused on casting speed instead of power.

The art is good, the character designs are great, the premise is different in a good way, and it does something different instead of trying to copy tropes.

But there are parts I just can't keep my suspension of disbelief for. Even with what the MC (main character) did, the two he rescued attach themselves to him too quickly and too energetically. And he keeps ending up with them due to some really...

That's how I would describe this story when it's doing well, because it shows the main character overcoming his trauma so well, it interferes with the author's intentions. So how is that dealt with? We are told he still has hangups and trust issues on things he's already moved past... since he shows none of those hangups for the most part and must tell the reader through internal monologue.

To start with, I only cared to review this because I saw the other reviews here and thought "I don't that when I read it last year (or maybe 2 years ago?)." So I read from the beginning again, and boy, was I surprised! (Oh, and I'll also review this on its other merits.)

But even back then, I got genuinely angry over the sudden nudity and sex. I say sudden because it really is. Had I...

The art is alright and the characters are a bit different than the standard cliché. But I wish the consistency of their characterization was, well, consistent.

And they do things that make no sense too often.

Chapter 12 did have the most legitimately funny star wars poster reference as a payoff to a slowly building joke. And there's some stuff that is actually good. Actually, the humor is decent...

So my original biggest issue with this story is the fact there's occasional detailed nudity (maybe 5 s across 35 chapters). I don't know why, as it only distracts from the story and prevents me from recommending this to anyone I know.

And yes, the modern-looking tech inclusion was a little odd. But for an isekai reincarnation manga, it's honestly very well done... but with one major caveat:

Two chapters in and the story doesn't care about inconsistencies if it means getting the scene done.

1) The MC (main character) chooses slave merchant because the other roles would be too troublesome, but the elf girl has all her titles listed beside her chosen one. The MC claims he wants to keep those other roles secret, but because the author wants to make some kind of weird, forced morality...

4

The long story short is that, despite having characters anticipate a sexual assault (and showing a of a woman on the ground with torn clothing), the writing is at a 3rd grade (elementary/primary school) level.

The plot so far, as little of it as we have gotten, is consistent as of chapter 12.

But the antagonists are cartoonishly obvious and oblivious, characters talk in front of other...

4

It's not technically purple prose, but it drags just like it. The author goes into the main character's often insecure and oft repeated thoughts so much you can literally skip 2/3rds of a given chapter and lose nothing.

This author either didn't have the time to choose what thoughts to focus on or just doesn't know any better and assumes all thoughts a character has need to be experienced.

The world and the characters are at odds with each other, and I don't mean the world is harsh and anti-human, I mean the characters don't act according to what the world is like. Imagine a world where there was no rain but everyone had an umbrella on them at all times. That kind of contradictory existence is every character in this manga.

Great at magic, but demands to be a swordsman and is...

4

Honestly, I liked this story much more than anyone else reviewing this (so far). Why?

There is no mindless harem. It may look that way if you're not paying attention, but at least as far as I've gotten, the only harem belongs to a side character.

The feeling is generally wholesome and I like the characters and their dynamics when interacting with each other.

The art is okay. No, it's not "bad". Is...

4

Basically, the author only knows how to plan a plot, but can't seem to write believable or consistent characters and scenarios in the scene to scene. As a result, the small moments fail to build up to the big moments, which means once the plot needs to move, it does so by hitting a ledge and being dragged up it instead of driving up a ramp.

As is often the case in Isekai, the MC's past doesn't...

4

The concept starts strong, and the art is decent, and the plot could be worse. Honestly, aside from the pacing slowing down way too much the longer it goes on, I might be inclined to give this a 6.5.

However, the author's treatment of the character "Eco" is inexcusable, lazy, and downright horrendous. She goes from an intelligent and hardworking person to a caricature of a cat with few lines and...

4

The main character wants to be bullied, but hates it at the same time. He calls the one girl who has tried to help him regularly a "bystander" despite the fact she can't do anything if he isn't going to.

The kingdom scores, what, 29/30 heroes and only one's a dud? Sweet, send him to the village to live like a regular per—oh, hate him and randomly teleport him somewhere while shouting obscenities...

4

There's a lot to like with this story, from the world building to the art and the characters. The main character actually tries to keep under the radar unlike every other manga where the main character says they want to keep a low profile and then do the equivalent of shouting "I'm special!" in the streets and making sure everyone knows. It's refreshing.

With that said, the facial expressions of...

4

The premise is interesting, and the characters are, too. The art is great. The fight scenes are drawn well. And the author did a good job with character progression and drama that wasn't artificially forced... until it was.

Chapter 19 sees the writing go from decent to atrocious, with the main character forgetting he knows how to command and fight while gawking most of the time. The intelligence...

4

Anything the manga has going for it is undercut by plausibility issues, usually in the form of contradictions. I got 3 chapters in and it hurts, especially since the main character has already failed to do the thing he swore he would do (which is what motivates and has motivated the protagonist for years).

4

This story looks and feels like a demo or something that would be entered into a contest several years ago and not attract a lot of interest.

The premise and perspective is fairly unique, but limited, and it shows. But the author seems to know this and keeps it short, which is a good thing.

But otherwise it's generic to a fault, which is unfortunate for the story... but honestly, I'm happy that it...

4

This is a story that frustrates me to review because it is both one of the most grounded versions of the "kicked out of the party" story but also one of the least grounded. It's like a zipper where one side is good and the other is bad, and they interlock together.

The MC (main character) gets a new party that, with his inclusion, is more guys than girls. It's not a harem as far as I can tell.

3.4

The premise is interesting, but the execution is lacking. It structures itself like a Shonen Jump story, but that structure doesn't match the plot, so things end up rushed and nonsensical as it hits the story to fight beats.

The art can, at times, be very pretty. But that's the best thing this story has going for it.

With that said, the reviewer below me is smoking something strong if they think...

3.3

It's like the author knows the kind of scenes they like, but never understood those senes and thus doesn't know why those scenes worked or didn't work.

The build-up and characterization don't match the plot, and thus none of it makes any sense unless you refuse to take any of the story seriously. Even some of the locations don't make sense to the events that happen in them. Just ignore the writing...

3.2

This is a frustrating read, because some elements are good and the art is nice.

But so much doesn't add up, especially the circumstances of most given situations, that I cannot keep my suspension of disbelief.

Worse yet, it becomes extremely clear the author has proven they haven't thought about the demon species being inherently hostile to humans, which they are and have been in both the history...

3

Our MC (main character) is someone who wants an easy life, and makes quite cowardly decisions in-line with that at the start. Then he eventually becomes mentally stronger as he finds a reason not to be a coward... but becomes a kind (as opposed to cowardly) pacifist to such an extreme he doesn't see why criminal behavior needs to be reprimanded, even if he was almost killed by said criminal.

3

The world exists to make the main character look good and every other male character look like a moron. There is no rhyme or reason to why things happen besides this.

You will laugh at how silly it is while feeling like you're getting dumber. It's just bad. So bad it's entertaining... but only if you take none of it seriously. It's not quite so bad it's good.

3

So it seems the mangaka has made some changes to the original story that makes more sense, so it shows the mangaka is at least aware of some of the issues with the story. But even still, there are so many issues the story fouls often and heavily regardless, and sometimes it does worse than the novels anyway.

Pacing is inconsistent and blistering, the plot just... plots, and the characters are...

3

Standard overpowered MC (main character) isekai harem setup with good art, visually appealing characters and lots of lewd fan service. Likes to skirt the line of breaking my suspension of disbelief, however.

The quirk of this work is that the MC gets points for doing pleasurable things and trades them in for creating or adjusting his or someone else's abilities. Running out of points means death.

3

This story is written for the maturity level of a 12 year old, with emotions being more important than consistency.

The ideas are there, but the execution is pitiful. Turn off your brain if you want to enjoy this, as 14 chapters in and there are already significant plot holes because of writing meant to the moment while forgetting the moment can't possibly exist.

The guild is trying to...

3

The art is nice, and the story isn't completely irredeemable at this point... well, it might be, because the main character's logic was already once broken in a major way to force him and his childhood friend apart with very poor justification.

After conquering the boss with dragon girl, a dungeon his former party hasn't yet beat, due to getting an upgrade in ability that makes him stonger than...

3

Main character says he doesn't want to be a super famous person... and proceeds to do almost everything he can to become famous whenever he has other, more sensible options. The author is either taking a dump on the reader's intelligence or is just that lacking in intelligence; considering how unbelievably superficial the characters' words are, and how nonsensical his logic gets, I can't say which...

3

The art is great, the character design is great, the characters are interesting. But interesting doesn't mean good.

But this author would rather have the MC (main character) change personality instead of tell a consistent story, all for the sake of the gimmick of [the MC isn't allowed to know he has a harem]. That only worked the first time.

With the prostitute character, the setup for the gimmick...

Sure, the stat dump makes sense, and I'll give a "barely " to the first couple chapters because the king was enough of a hothead that I'd believe he'd hastily do what he did and not listen to any corrections. The king cut the main character off, so that one gets a .

But in chapter 3, where the main character knows better than to his evasion as a healer—and he just got jailed for...
