Too creepy

I’ve been reading Karin’s other works as it’s pretty art and the stories are sweet. While her older works are still kind of cringey, her most recent ones are much more wholesome and way less inane. (Mind you, these are still measured against my low standards for smut - an actually engaging and well written story with smut (and not ecchi nor yaoi) doesn’t seem to exist, though I would suggest Ero Meru-hen if anyone’s looking).

This title, however, did not follow the trend of being more recent and plainly better - it was as rapey as your typical smut manga and on top of that, utterly creepy!

At first it’s a normal cliche and kind of unbelievable scenario, but then! This dude who you barely even from your childhood is like, “come with me to all the places we used to go and let’s reminisce about memories which were mundane and unimportant to you but I’ve been hung up on for more than the last decade and I’ve been waiting to make you mine.”

And of course, the main female just starts going along with it. “Oh yeah, I guess that memory is sort of sweet”... before she gets convinced to stay with this absolute stranger whom she had a couple playdates with as a child after he rapes her some more.

To be fair, maybe it gets revealed later down the line that the main guy actually did impact kid her and isn’t just this absolutely creepy borderline yandere guy. I only read the first two or three chapters before I got too creeped out.

I’d suggest the author’s latest work - Sleep with me, Haruomi, for a better read.

I really can't understand how someone can fall in love with a person who touched them to his heart's content even when they have said no multiple times. I mean it's sexual assault. The story made me really uncomfortable and I dropped it because of how pushy and rapey the male lead is.
