they're different, but i see that people are using the tags as if they were the same.

--Author Transmigrated to own creation = reincarnated/has their soul transported into a body different from their own, such as inhabiting the body of a character in their creation
--Author Transported to own creation = no reincarnation or transmigration, as in they keep their original appearance/body before they were transported inside their creation.

Also, is “Seke” different from “Switch Uke”? If “Seke” = “Switch Seme” then I think it’d be better to change it to “Switch Seme” so it mirrors the wording of “Switch Uke”.

These two categories are essentially the same:

• Manga with Webtoon Version
• Tatekomi Version Available

Tatekomi is basically a japanese word for a webtoon format. One could argue that 2nd category doesn't specify the main genre, but there's no point of using word tatekomi for non-japanese release.

What is the difference between Smut and Hentai? Or for that matter between those and Adult?

How about Blood-related Incest & Non-blood-related Incest categories. how closely related characters are is kind of impotent, the Mother-Daughter Incest tag doesn't tell me if it by blood or not

Also a Brother-Brother Incest tag is also missing.

I would use "Non-blood-related Incest" and "Brother-Brother Incest" tag on manga like "Too Close to Fall in Love"

I'm seeing a lot of categories with names that are only one word off from another, and functionally mean the same thing. Can you make the site so that if someone enters one, it autocorrects to the other?

Some tags have ambiguous meanings and may be misused, which is why I think we need a glossary, especially of Japanese-language tags.

For example, is Mirror Sex "sex in front of a mirror"? Or "sex with your reflection"? Is Hidden Sex "having sex while hiding from others/hiding that you're having sex"? Or is it "concealing your (biological) sex"? And what is the difference between Incest and Inseki?

1. I'm trying to browse the categories overview and I just noticed that:

• The max. loaded entries are the first 2500, so the next 4500 or so cannot be displayed.
• What is loaded and displayed depends on the selected orderby.
• Pagination size doesn't change the cutoff point.

The descriptions for shounen (boys) and shoujo (girls) are wrong. These demographics are not "males" and "females", the demographics are teen boys and teen girls.

I've written some questions/suggestions about the adult/ecchi/hentai/mature/smut genres, as well as some others, and whether or not these 'genres' should be categories. Where should posts regarding this (undoubtedly recurring) topic go, is there a better thread than this bug-related one? Thanks

Categories are not actually individual items in the database, they're aggregations using an indexing software named Elasticsearch, as a result, we have that limited to about 2500 for performance reasons.

Yes we could have done this differently, but the categories system was built in the mid 2000s, when I didn't know what I was doing. Hopefully we can get a chance to improve it, but we're focused on other items at the moment.

Smut means explicit sex scenes in a story, hentai is just sex without any real plot. Adult is when a story contain scenes of sex, but not explicit - no zooms on the genitals, female breast without nipples etc.
