Hey, I need your help 🙂I just finished the first season of the anime Black Butler (don't read if you haven't seen the end) and started the second season. At the end of the first season Sebastian is supposed to have taken Ciel's soul, but at the beginning of the second season it's just like if nothing happened. I don't understand =_=Maybe it's explained later, I only saw the first two episodes of the second season... but If someone can explain it to me, it would be cool 😛 4b4e18

The anime doesn't follow the manga. If you wanna watch the story line that follows the manga, watch the first episode till episode 15 then skip the rest of it and start watching the new arc that's airing right now: The Circus Arc. Personally I enjoy the manga a lot more.

They do explain it in the second season. Just watch.
Just as Sebas was about to consume Ciel's soul, Claude took it. I forget the details. It didn't start over.
Book of Circus was the one to rewind back to right after the cooking contest in the first anime. The character development was undone, and it follows the manga.
For instance, Ciel's speech in S1
about wanting revenge for himself, and not for glorified reasons like "justice" or "revenge for my parents' sake" only happened recently in the manga.
