Hello there! We're Right Honyaku Translations, a very infrequent scanlation group that mostly consists of me, aceredshirt13, on translation, my friend, celadon, on editing, typesetting, and redrawing, and whoever we can recruit to help with everything else! 6c191b

And right now, who we're recruiting is… a Japanese translation checker for part 1 of Trafalgar by Yasuko Aoike!

What’s Trafalgar about?

It is the beginning of the nineteenth century. Napoleon and his forces have their eyes on all of Europe, and iral Horatio Nelson is hailed as a British hero for his repeated success in thwarting them. Eugene Roderick, a ship captain in the Royal Navy, has been ordered to fight along with Nelson in what would later be known as the Battle of Trafalgar, and is thus sworn to protect him from those who wish him harm - including a man said to be the best musketeer in the whole of . Yet, to Eugene, that sniper is not merely an enemy, but also a familiar face…

A one-volume historical shojo from 1979 about two childhood friends on the opposite sides of the Napoleonic Wars, and the violence and sorrow that warfare brings. It’s melodramatic! It feels a bit gay! And it’s got extremely detailed art!

Why a translation checker?

You see, I’m still learning Japanese, and I like to translate as a supplement to my post-university personal studies as a method of learning new words and becoming increasingly familiar with Japanese speech patterns. But I know how many bad fan translations there are out there - and I don’t want mine to be one of them! So if you’re fluent or near-fluent in Japanese and are willing to take a look at the translation I’ve already done, you’d be a lifesaver for us.

Part 1 is 58 pages, though the number of translated pages is probably closer to 55. You don’t have to worry too much about historical accuracy, because I’m in a Royal Navy Discord server with people far more knowledgeable about the period than I who should be able to check after the fact for any issues in terminology. If you could stay on for part 2, which is roughly equal in length, it would be immensely appreciated! And obviously you’d be credited for your hard work.

If you’re interested, jump in this (kinda inactive) Discord server, or just DM me personally!
